Challenge Against Climate Change

The Challenge Against Climate Change initiative has been created by one of our ambassadors, Shaan Boolell, with the goal of uniting individuals from all walks of life to take on a tough personal challenge —raising awareness and vital funds for Earthwatch Australia to help conserve and protect the Great Barrier Reef.

In partnership with Earthwatch Australia, Shaan hopes to inspire people to push their limits for a cause that matters. Through the power of collective action, we can make a real and lasting difference for the Reef.

This year we have a number of fundraisers taking on challenges ranging from half marathons to 100km running events!

Shaan

Shaan is the ambassador for Earthwatch Australia’s Challenge Against Climate Change program, a fundraising initiative dedicated to protecting the Great Barrier Reef. With a background in sustainability consulting Shaan is passionate about environment sustainability and conservation.

What is Challenge Against Climate Change

The Challenge Against Climate Change is a fundraising initiative spearheaded by Earthwatch Australia ambassador Shaan Boolell. It unites individuals from diverse backgrounds to undertake personal challenges—ranging from half marathons, 100km ultramarathons, beach clean ups, or anything else that resonates with you!

How to get involved

Make a big impact by donating to the Challenge Against Climate Change.

Your support goes directly to Earthwatch Australia's work to conserve and protect the Great Barrier Reef.

You can:

  • Donate to the campaign as a whole, helping power the collective effort to tackle climate change and reef degradation.
  • Support an individual fundraiser, like our ambassador Shaan Boolell, who's leading by example with his own endurance challenge.

Every dollar raised supports real science and conservation that helps ensure the future of our Reef.

Together, our actions—big or small—can make a lasting difference.
